What is the difference between tattooed eyebrows and Eyebrow Embroidery? With Eyebrow Embroidery the pigment is injected into the upper layer of the skin, the epidermis. This is the outer layer of the skin that regenerates constantly, which causes fading and loss of pigment. With tattooing, the pigment penetrates deeper to the lower layer of the skin (dermis), where the cells are more stable, causing the pigment to persist (could slightly fade, change color or spillover) throughout the lifetime of the individual and change color due to external and internal factors.
-
What does the procedure involve for the result to look so natural?Eyebrow Embroidery is a manual method where individual hairs are drawn with an exceptionally fine blade, made up of 14 needles. Since the pigment is injected closer to the surface of the skin, hairs are very fine and have a natural appearance. Unlike tattooing is done by machine and the pigments penetrates deeper.
-
Is it painful? The area will be numbed with an ointment before the actual procedure starts to ensure comfort. Some swelling and redness might occur but it will subside in less than 24 hours.
-
Why does the finished result look so intense at first? After the first 7 to 10 days the colour lightens between 30 - 40% and the image softens by 10 - 15%.
-
How to select the color of the pigments? The Brow Artisan will select a pigment color or mix a tailor made colour combination according to your hair colour, mood, makeup-style and skin colouring to suit you best. The colour can be a bit brighter in the beginning and then darkened accordingly with the second, touch-up session.

I do like my friend's eyebrow shape. May I bring an image to show you what I would like? You can not compare yourself with another woman or ask for a design to match a picture. The shape of the eyebrow is determined by the orbital/frontal bone, space between the eyes, temple, golden ratio and the total image of the face.
-
What is the ideal design for my eyebrows?Eyebrows are designed according to a clearly visible face shape that we wish to balance, for example as a short, long, wide or narrow face. The proper correction or emphasis on the eyebrows optically shorten or narrow the face, or extend it in terms of the width and height.
-
How do you create a symmetrical eyebrow design? We use the Golden Ratio Calipers for its precision to design the eyebrows.
-
What is the Golden Ratio? The Golden Ratio is the most beautiful and harmonious relation of two different quantities. It's mathematical concept, a law of compositions, where the ratio of the smaller part to the larger part is the same as the ratio of larger part to the whole. The ratio is always 1.618 033 989...
-
How long do the results last? The results last between 12-18 months including the second procedure 4-6 weeks after the initial pigmentation/Eyebrow Embroidery, depending on the skin type.
-
I have a scar over my eyebrow area. Can I have the procedure done?Eyebrow Embroidery is not performed over keloidal scars. It can be done over atrophic and hypertrophic scars after it completely healed (which can take up to a year and a half). Hair drawn on the scar and it's color, will look different.
-
I have ruptured capillaries around my eye area. Can I have the procedure done?Eyebrow Embroidery does not cause ruptured capillaries, but the technique is highly discouraged, as it only exacerbates the condition.
-
I have a skin condition or allergy concern. Can I have the procedure done?Eyebrow Embroidery is not performed with seborrheic dermatitis, as it can cause unwanted bleeding and can also act as a cause of inflammation later during exfoliation. The color will disappear in a matter of weeks. Eyebrow Embroidery is not performed after sunburn, over spots and any changes of color and texture in relation to surrounding skin in the area of the face or a person who suffers from psoriasis. If you have any medical concerns or issues then please seek advice from a qualified medical professional prior to your Eyebrow Embroidery appointment booking as MCBartistry has a no refund policy.
-

-
How long is the recovery process and what do I need to do?Immediately after the service, the aftercare instructions will be explained to you in detail. Since there is no redness or swelling your everyday routine will not be effected.

What are Dermapen™ treatments?Dermapen 4™ is the breakthrough of the decade utilising the most advanced needle cartridge innovation to vertically pierce the skin. Dermapen 4™ glides over the skin creating millions of fine fractional channels up to 104% faster than other microneedling devices. These channels can carry up to 80% more topical nutrients deeper into the skin. In turn our body’s natural response triggers a natural process of repair. The result is an increased production of collagen and elastin, resurfacing, retexturizing and overall skin renewal anywhere on the body, from hard to reach areas such as around the eyes, eyelids, earlobes, neck, lips, nose or larger areas of neck and décolleté, stomach and legs for stretch mark treatments. Dermapen 4™ is the most advanced microneedling device available. Dermapen 4™ treatments are faster, safer, and produce optimal results.
-
Are Dermapenâ„¢ treatments painful?Traditional dermal rolling techniques proved to be a bloody and painful treatment, requiring the application of topical anaesthetic cream (TLA) before treatments. A progression was seen with Dermapen 3â„¢ which caused less epidermal (skin) damage, and reduced levels of pain and discomfort for safer, more effective microneedling treatments. Today with Dermapen 4â„¢ there is no comparison - this is the most comfortable, virtually pain-free microneedling treatment available. Dermapen 4 â„¢ treatments are so comfortable there is no need for any TLA. Just lay back and enjoy stunning results.
-
How should I prepare my skin for a Dermapenâ„¢ treatment? For optimal results, an appropriate homecare regime should be determined by your clinician to encourage the skin to prepare, strengthen and fortify (especially for thin or delicate skin areas).
-

-
How soon after filler/muscle relaxant injections can I have a Dermapenâ„¢ treatment? While there is no clinical evidence that Dermapenâ„¢ treatments counteract with any particular injectables, it is important to let your clinician know if you have had an injectable treatment, or are planning one in the near future. Your clinician will be able to advise you on when to schedule your treatment appropriately.
-
How long should it take before I see results?Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will become visible after 3 to 6 treatments (spaced 2-8 weeks apart). The condition of your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments, especially when combined with the recommended post-treatment care.
-
Is there any downtime after treatments?Generally no, but you may experience facial redness for 12-48 hours after the treatment. Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment.

Specifics For Permanent EyelinerDo not wear contact lenses during the procedure or for 24 hours after. Have sunglasses available. Eyes may be light sensitive or even dilated immediately after. The sunglasses are also handy for hiding puffy eyes. Do not dye, perm, or use eyelash curler for 2 weeks. Do not use mascara until outer healing is complete (3-5 days). Most clients are returning to work in 2 days and are noncompliant about this, so at least begin with a new tube of mascara due to risk of bacterial presence in used tubes. Stay a little farther out on the lashes, not too close to the liner. Remove with vaseline or baby oil without rubbing it into the liner. Eyes will be swollen for a few days. Eyes may feel dry or irritated. Lubricating refresher drops may be used. Permanent Makeup is contra-indicated in the following conditions: Pregnancy Epilepsy Hepatitis Asthma Fever Blister (Lip Procedure) Herpes / infectious diseases / fever Hemophilia (bleeder) Use of blood thinners Heart condition or circulatory problems Pacemaker Diabetes Auto-immune diseases Use of caffeine, drugs, alcohol or medication such as aspirin 3hours prior to procedure Surgery in the last 14 days, irradiated or otherwise treated medically Aesthetic procedures in the last three weeks Aftercare Instructions: Proper care following your procedure is necessary to achieve the best result. In many cases some unevenness of colour is to be expected. A touch up is included after the first Eyebrow Embroidery Appointment not earlier than 4 weeks and no later than 6 weeks after. Please note, scheduling the Touch Up appointment is your responsibility, a touch up fee of 1500.00 will be charged when you miss the 6 weeks cut off period as you agreed and signed on the Consent Form upon the first appointment. Eyeliner and Lip Touch Up appointments are not included but can be arranged. If during the healing process you have any concerns, please contact me directly.
Some itching is normal. DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR SCRATCH the treated area. Your colour may heal unevenly and you risk scarring and infection.
No makeup is to be applied onto the specific area or near it to prevent infection and to allow the skin to heal.
Do not expose your healing skin to direct shower spray, hot water, cosmetic products like creams and sprays, lotions or ointments other than what have been instructed to use for ONE WEEK following your procedure.
After the Eyebrow Embroidery procedure start the application of the aftercare ointment. The first application after two hours and repeat every two hours till the PM.
AM & PM - avoid splashing water over the area or standing under the shower with your face. Wet your face with your fingers, foam your face wash then apply to the damp face, washing around the area avoiding the treated area, always. Instead of rinsing or splashing off, use a wet sponge, face cloth or mitten to remove the soapy cleanser. For 6 days avoid the treated area when cleansing the face, in the bath or shower, even when washing hair.
Press the face dry with a tissue instead of wiping with a towel. Then in front of the basin mirror, wet the Eyebrows with your fingertips and water AM & PM for 6 days. Then pick up a drop of the "Wash" with a cotton stick. Share between the brows with the cotton stick and wipe once from the beginning to the end of the brows with the wash with the cotton stick to disinfect and remove the build-up of impurities and the ointment. To remove, wet a cotton pad with water and wipe away the wash once on each brow using one side for the one, and the other side for the other brow. Then pick up half a rice grain size of the ointment with a clean cotton stick tip, share between the brows, then apply with the cotton stick to the brows. Remember to reapply the ointment every two hours during the day only.
After the Eyeliner procedure, no soap or water must go near the eye area for 6 days. Only a very small amount of the aftercare ointment needs to be applied four times a day under the liner under the eye and on top of the liner on the top lid.
After a lip procedure always keep your lips moist at all times alternating between the two provided treatments for 6 days. Avoid spicy food, seafood, heat or cold. If using fever blister medication, continue as prescribed.
Always apply the aftercare ointment with a clean cotton stick from the jar to the area gently. Avoid using the same end of the cotton stick a second time as it will contaminate the jar with the cream.
The repeated applications of the ointment is to moisten the area, to protect it from bacteria and scabbing. If it scabs, the pigment will be removed in the process. Long Term Care: Always use a good sunscreen daily, even lips requires protection. Sun exposure will fade permanent cosmetics and may cause irritation even a year later.
Please inform your physician of your cosmetic tattoo if you are planning a peel, MRI, laser or medical procedure.
If you are a blood donor please note the blood bank policy. You must wait 12 months after your cosmetic procedure before you can donate blood again.
